STAY UP-TO-DATE ON ALL THINGS PLP
A MESSAGE TO OUR COMMUNITY:
Ten years ago, our organization was founded with the goal of bridging the gap for breast cancer patients and their families. We are learning more every day about the inequity of the delivery of health services to various populations and communities, and we are even more determined to help do our part. The mortality rate of breast cancer should not be higher in African American women, yet it is. We believe that Black Lives Matter.
We, too, have been struggling to process all the events over the past several months like so many across America and in our own communities. We have been listening and learning. We are committing to continue looking at our work, our industry, our sector, and how we engage with broader audiences. We will look at our mission – to educate, empower and support those affected by breast cancer – and consider how we make it true for more. We promise that we will keep listening and learning. We will seek new friendships and partnerships to make systemic change.
