Our Story

Founded in 2010 by Drs. Allen and Cassie Gabriel, Pink Lemonade Project (501c3) was created to provide critical support to breast cancer survivors who struggled with the many emotional and psychological aspects of breast cancer diagnosis and recovery. Within the breast cancer community itself, Allen and Cassie noticed a dangerous lack of information, such as when someone should get a mammogram (with or without a history of breast cancer), as well as the rights and options available for restoration after a mastectomy or lumpectomy.

Initially providing a retreat for 14 brave women, Pink Lemonade Project expanded in 2011 with the offering of singles and couples retreats. Today, we are able to improve the lives of many through three valuable programs: Revive Retreats which offer a healing three day escape for both survivors, survivors and their partners, and women living with metastatic breast cancer, Pink Link, offering one-on-one mentorship and group support, and our support groups, facilitated by oncology social workers and designed to give women cancer survivors an opportunity to talk with others who are facing similar challenges in a safe, welcoming environment.

Giving to Pink Lemonade Project

When You Give to Pink Lemonade Project, You Are Helping To Provide Support To Hundreds Of People In Our Region Each Year

Pink Lemonade Project works to support, educate, and empower those who are impacted by breast cancer in our community. Sadly, each year over 3,000 people are diagnosed with breast cancer in our region. Through our programs, we reach approximately 400 people a year, meaning there is still much work to be done. Our programs are meant to provide relief during a time when nearly every aspect of a person's life becomes secondary to their diagnosis. Our Revive Retreats provide a much needed reprieve from the stress of everyday life, while provide valuable opportunities for camaraderie and personal growth. Our Support Groups help those diagnosed with breast cancer know they are not alone, and leverage the power of peer support to work through this trying time. Social interaction is vital for patients, survivors and previvors alike. That's why our Pink Link program provides numerous opportunities to gather and socialize, or even get together and work out. The same program works to connect patients with mentors for valuable one-on-one dialogues that help bring calm to a difficult time.

Donors like you make these opportunities available at no, or little, charge to the community. We rely on continued support from the community, both corporate sponsors and individual donors, to continue - and expand - the work we do.
